As the completion of the new mall at Springfields Outlet Shopping and Festival Gardens in Spalding grows ever closer, the innovative lighting scheme that will make shopping at the centre even more of a delight is being unveiled.
The lights will run the length and width of the new covered mall – set to open in July 2008 – and will be capable of producing an astonishing 16.7 million colours. This means that whatever mood needs to be created, can be.
The lights will be operated from a control room at Springfields where operatives will be able to mix colours together themselves or use pre-designed effects from a CD-ROM. Each sequence can be controlled for depth and length.
The lights will also be capable of creating a magical effect at seasonal times of the year, For example, at Christmas red and white light can be mixed together to give a wonderful festive feeling.
The lighting in the new mall will be completed with 40 spotlights illuminating the pedestrian walkway and shops as well as several in-ground walkover lights that will shine up, illuminating the supporting columns.
